Cornwall Otter Award farm walk

Tuesday 22nd July at 11am – 2.00pm at Tregullas Farm, The Lizard TR12 7NL.

Join us at Tregullas Farm to celebrate with the Amiss Family – our 2024 Cornwall Otter Award Winners!

Rona, Nevil and their family took on the tenancy of the National Trust farm 12 years ago and in that time have made Tregullas a community hub. They opened a farm shop where they sell their own meat, veg and wool products as well as produce from other nearby farms. School visits play an important part on the farm, a passion that Rona shares with her daughter Elsa, who also coordinates the Kingfisher Award Scheme in Cornwall.

This enterprising family have taken every opportunity to grow their business, diversifying where appropriate but keeping their grazing livestock at the core of what they do. Using cattle to graze the coastal cliffs offers huge environmental benefits and their Dexter cattle are well suited to this.

Come and join us to find out more about the importance of agri-environment schemes in managing farms like Tregullas and the plans they have for the future as their young family show a keen interest in getting involved in farming.

FREE for FWAG SW members – £5 for non-members

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the farm walk.

Lunch provided.
